Camiguin Travel Guide
Hi there! π Iβm Benj Tupas and welcome to another Philippines Travel Guide where I write DIY and budget-friendly guides on how to travel to all 82 provinces of the Philippines!
For todayβs guide, letβs explore Camiguin province!
If you have any questions, you may message me on Facebook. π

Day 1: Travel to Camiguin
π 06:00AM - Grab to NAIA Terminal 3
βοΈ 08:00AM - Flight to Cagayan de Oro via Cebu Pacific
- There's a direct flight to Camiguin but it was priced around P12,000+ when I checked.
- I only booked mine for around P2,750 with Cebu Pacific's Super Pass. The Cagayan de Oro route is way longer but significantly cheaper.
- Duration of the flight: 1 hour and 30 minutes (08:00AM to 09:30AM)
100% Contactless Check-in
I love that Cebu Pacific is now committed to 100% contactless check-in from boarding pass to bag drop.
However, it needs a few minor tweaks to become perfect. It was my 3rd time to try this but it's still not smooth:
1. It takes some time to figure out how to put the sticker into the luggage
2. So many bar/QR codes, you'll get confused which one to scan
3. Minor errors but it worked after repeating the process a couple of times.
Don't worry if it's too confusing, the manual way is still existing if you need help.
π 10:00AM - Ride the Van to Agora Terminal
- At the Laguindingan Airport in Cagayan de Oro, take the van just outside of the airport and ask for Agora Terminal.
- Fare: P200
- Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes (10:00AM - 11:15AM)
- There's a shopping center at the Agora Terminal. You can buy pasalubong here when go home.
- You can also eat lunch here
π₯ 11:30AM - Lunch at Agora Terminal
π² Mr. 8 Fastfood
- Just a few stalls on the right of the Agora shopping center
- Sample Order: Nilagang baka with rice (P140)
π© Poppers Doughnut
- In-front of Mr. 8 Fastfood
- 4 doughnuts at P10 to P12 each. Sobrang mura pero masarap!
There are fast food restaurants nearby like Jollibee, Mang Inasal, Chowking, Dunkin, and Mister Donut but better try local.
π 12:15PM - Ride the Bus to Balingoan Port
Two Options:
1. Butuan Bus
- They have comfortable chairs with air condition and CR
- Ask the conductor to stop at Balingoan Port
- Fare: P198
2. Direct to Balingoan Port
- You can ride the direct bus but not air-conditioned
- Fare: P158
Start: 12:15PM
Stopover: Balingasag Bus Terminal (01:30PM)

π₯₯ Donβt miss the buko pie for only P15
β΄οΈ 02:30PM - Ride the Ferry to Benoni Port, Camiguin
- From the bus stop, go to Balingoan Port. Itβs less than a minute walk.

- All restaurants and stores are still close at this hour.
- This is the reason why you need to do groceries the night before just outside of SJ Pabua.
β΄οΈ 04:30AM - Register at White Island Ferry Terminal
Two options to go there:
1. Walk: 15-minute from SJ Pabua (not much motorela at this hour)
2. Motorela: 3-minute ride (P10 per person)
Registration:
+ P550 - boat (good for 4)
+ P50 - environmental fee
- You can share the boat with other people but you'll go back when they want to go back. Better rent the entire boat so you can stay on the island as long as you want.
- Tourism Contact: 09657868877
β΅οΈ 05:00AM - Boat Ride to White Island
- You can actually see the island from the registration
- Duration: 5 minutes or less
π§οΈ The weather was really bad during this trip but the sandbar was still really beautiful. Just imagine if it was a sunny day.
ποΈ The sandbar is C-shaped to represent Camiguin

This place is free of charge but you'll have to register at the tourism office.
Rentals:
β΅ P100 - Boat to go to the cross
π€Ώ P50 - Snorkel, mark, and fins
π§οΈ Unfortunely, the weather wasn't good and the water was really cold so I decided to skip snorkeling.
The Sunken Cemetery is just across the street and you'll be passing by a pasalubong center. The best place to buy pasalubong.
π During the destructive eruptions of Mount Volcan, a town and cemetery sank deeper and deeper beneath the sea.
