Things To Do
The National Museum Complex is composed of 3 buildings beside each other near Rizal Park:
π Natural History
π Anthropology
π¨ Fine Arts
This travel guide focuses only on the Natural History museum which exhibits the rich biological and geological diversity of the Philippines.

The Anthropology and Fine Arts travel guides will follow soon.

How To Get There?
The fastest way is to book a car via the Grab app or motorcycle hailing apps such as MoveIt, Angkas, or JoyRide.
Entrance

The museum opens at 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM from Monday to Sunday.

The entrance is free of charge. Just bring a valid government-issued ID.

After the registration, you need to deposit your bags, tripods, water bottles, and anything besides your camera, phone, and wallet.
Tree of Life

The centerpiece of the museum called "Tree of Life" to symbolize the connection between all the unique ecosystems in the Philippines.
The structure also resembles a skeleton, aligning with the museum's major exhibits, which feature skeletons.
Top to Bottom

- The best way to explore the museum is to go to the top floor first
- This is weird because the elevator doesn't allow anyone to ride down.

This museum has six floors and here are my favorite exhibits...
Lolong The Crocodile

- The remains of Lolong The Crocodile
- When he was captured in September 2011, he was estimated to be at least 50 years old, more than 20 feet long, and weighed 1,075 kilograms.
- Lolong was the world's largest crocodile in captivity according to The Guinness Book of World Records

- A team of veteran crocodile hunters led by Ernesto "Lolong" CoΓ±ate, where the crocodile's name was based, was tasked with searching for a giant crocodile blamed for the deaths of a fisherman and a young girl in Agusan del Sur, Mindanao.
- He was caught after three weeks and died in February 2013.
